Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how TSD CONSULTANCY - FZCO (Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai, United Arab Emirates — "we", "us") handles information in connection with the website emberlost.com and the browser game EMBERLOST (together, the "Service"). The short version: we built EMBERLOST to be played, not to collect data.

emberlost.com is served through Cloudflare, our content delivery network. Cloudflare adds its own small performance script (beacon.min.js) to pages it serves, and it reports aggregate figures to us: page views, load times, country, browser family. It sets no cookie, does not identify you, does not follow you to other sites, and we cannot use it to single out an individual visitor. We do not run any analytics of our own on top of it.

If you would rather it did not load at all, any content blocker that blocks static.cloudflareinsights.com stops it, and the game plays exactly the same.

3. Local storage on your device

The game saves your progress (chapter completion, collected sparks, chosen language) using your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device, is not sent to our servers, and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for emberlost.com.

4. Server logs

Like practically every website, our hosting infrastructure keeps short-lived technical logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp, user-agent) for security and error diagnosis, and we read aggregate counts out of them — how many people opened the game, which chapters were loaded. We do this in the logs rather than in your browser precisely so that nothing extra has to run on your device. IP addresses are never stored in our figures: they are reduced to a one-way value that changes every day, which lets us count visits without following anyone across days. The raw logs are deleted on a rolling basis.

5. Newsletter ("Follow the ember")

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process the email address you provide and your selected language, solely to send you occasional news about EMBERLOST (for example, when a new chapter is released).

• Double opt-in: you will first receive a confirmation email; your subscription only becomes active after you confirm it. Unconfirmed addresses are deleted automatically.
• Delivery provider: emails are sent through Resend (Resend, Inc.), which processes your email address on our behalf for delivery only.
• Unsubscribe: every email contains an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing deletes your address from the active list.
• Legal basis: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

6. Children

The Service does not knowingly collect personal data from children. The game itself collects no personal data from anyone; the newsletter is intended for users aged 16 and over. If you believe a child has subscribed to the newsletter, contact us and we will delete the address.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EU/EEA under the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Since the only personal data we hold is newsletter email addresses, the fastest path is usually a short email to us.

8. International transfers

We are based in the United Arab Emirates, and our hosting and email providers may process data in other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses offered by our providers).

9. Changes to this policy

If the Service ever changes in a way that affects privacy — for example, if accounts or mobile versions launch — we will update this policy and change the date at the top before the change takes effect.
